To lead others to Jesus, you must first learn to
follow Him. Preaching the gospel is a must because contrary to popular opinion
not everybody has the heard the gospel. The gospel is not doctrine, the gospel
is power. The reason some folks don’t believe in missions is that the brand of
religion they have isn’t worth propagating. Motive does not matter as long as
the gospel is preached. Preaching of the Gospel only ends when the trump of God
shall sound and we all rise to meet Him in the air.
“If
you found a cure for cancer, wouldn’t it be inconceivable to hide it from the
rest of mankind? How much more inconceivable to keep silent the cure from the
eternal wages of death.” – Dave Davidson.
“The
greatest missionary is the bible in the mother tongue. It needs no furlough and
is never considered a foreigner.” – William Cameron Townsend. What’s also
interesting is that throughout history the first uses of other technologies
have almost always included the propagation of the gospel. For example, the
printing of the first bible on the Gutenberg press – 1455. Thank God for
Christian pioneers in music, radio, theatre, television and cinema. It seems
that some Christians want to shun new technologies as opposed to embracing
them.
“If
you cannot preach, give. If you cannot give, distribute tracts. If you cannot
distribute tracts talk to your friends.” – George Washington. “We talk of the
second coming, half of the world has never heard of the first.” – Oswald J.
smith. “We are not to make men converts of our opinions. But we are to make
them disciples of Jesus.” – Oswald Chambers
When
Andrew brought Peter to JESUS. He brought through Peter 3000 souls on the day
of Pentecost; and when Edward Kimball brought Moody to JESUS, he brought,
through Moody a million people to the saviour. One single person is worth it
all, but infinite possibilities are wrapped up in every human life.
To
think of civilising men without converting them to Christ is about as wise as
to think about transforming wolves into lambs merely by washing them and
putting them on a fleece of wool. One faithful witness is worth a thousand mute
professors of religion. “Tell the students to give up their small ambitions and
come eastward to preach the gospel of Christ.” – Francis Xavier.
A
poor man needs the gospel and not money, because poverty is the absence of
information. The reason why the gospel is not preached is because of the
poverty of some Christians. One Commentator says "The rich man saw the reason of not becoming a
Christian because of lazarous." LOL!!!!
